Earth Day is a great opportunity to talk with your students about recycling, gardening, and the impact we have on the environment. This year Earth Day falls on a Saturday, but you can still have activities and discussions for the whole week following Earth Day with this great educational resource.

The Climate Education Week Toolkit provides activities and lesson plans for students in grades K-12.  The lessons explore different areas of impact, including recycling materials, planting trees, and discussing jobs in the sustainability field.

One activity, suitable for students in grades 5-8, gives detailed information about the recycling process and gives the students an opportunity to create their own paper through the recycling of old newspapers! Check out the material list below and click here for a full description, plus tons of resources and activities for Climate Education Week in your classroom.
